Meet the Team
Roger Blain joined the Firm in 2002 as an REO manager, and has served as an Asset Manager, Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President, and now serves as President. He has thirty-five (35) years of experience in business operations management, consulting and customer service. Mr. Blain is responsible for management of all TaxServ’s company operations, asset management, lien administration, collections and finances. Mr. Blain received a BA in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Utah in 1986.
Executive Vice President
Jeff Frantz joined TaxServ in 2019 as Executive Vice President and has been involved in the real estate and tax lien industry since 2007. From 2014 until acquisition by TaxServ, Mr. Frantz served as owner and President of TaxDeed360, a nationwide property services and asset management company focused on the tax lien industry. From 2007 to 2014, he was a Director of Asset Management for a large tax lien servicer overseeing their tax lien foreclosure and REO portfolios. Mr. Frantz earned a Master’s Degree in Management from Troy University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Rivera joined a Firm subsidiary in 1998 and has worked up within the Firm and now serves as CFO. Her responsibilities include managing the financial actions of the Firm and also functions for both Accounting and Account Administration Groups. These include processing accounts payable, general ledger and bank reconciliations, tax reporting, portfolio redemptions, investor reporting, system balancing, financial analysis, and human relations. Ms. Rivera has an A.S. degree in Accounting from the Institute of Career Education.
Ms. Thomas joined TaxServ in 2015 with extensive experience in lien/loan servicing and lien/loan collateral management. Ms. Thomas is responsible for the daily management of all client collection processing personnel for lockbox activities, bank account reconciliations, client distributions and reporting. She supervises custodian and collateral management for all lien and REO documents and certificates. Ms. Thomas holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2001.
Kenny Chan joined the Firm in 2004. After fulfilling varous Company management needs, now serves as Operations Manager for Data Integrity, IT Management, and Mail Fulfillment. All client data placement, system boarding, quality assurance checks and ongoing reconciliations are performed by Kenny and his team. Kenny has experience with SQL, is an expert user of Microsoft Office including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, MS Powerpoint and many other software and hardware technologies. Kenny studied Computer Science and Business at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University.
Thomas P. Malnati, Esq.
Mr. Malnati joined the Firm in 2002 as Portfolio Director and Counsel. His over 25 years of legal and business collection experience and over 20 years of practice experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure and collection law, Mr. Malnati provides TaxServ and its clients with an in depth understanding of legal and business issues. As a practicing attorney since 1990 in Connecticut and Florida, Mr. Malnati's broad experience in commercial law; commercial litigation and bankruptcy proceedings provides a depth of insight to TaxServ clients. At the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa he earned a Bachelor degree in 1978 and a Ph.D. in 1985. Mr. Malnati attended the University of Connecticut Law School and graduated in 1990 with a Juris Doctor degree.
Client Relations Manager
Ms. Gelormino joined the Firm in 2015 after obtaining over 10 year's experience in Connecticut First Selectman's office dealing with all aspects of local government. She conducts business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with our services and advises what additional services the Firm can offer. Ms. Gelormino holds a certificate as an EMT provider and is a member of the Goshen Volunteer Fire Company.
Mrs. Gonzales joined the firm in March 2008 and has over fifteen years of experience in municipal receivable collections, for a top 10 Connecticut community where she managed customer service, taxpayer disputes, and receipt of tax payments. Mrs. Gonzales appointment as Collection Manager followed the retirement of our previous manager of 10 years.
Ms. Pinkhasov joined the firm in 2015 as a Real Estate Asset Manager. She brings over fifteen (15) years of experience in asset management for real estate tax liens and REO from M.D. SASS, a New York City based investment management company where she managed the liquidation of company held tax lien and REO assets. Ms. Pinkhasov manages all aspects of daily lien and asset servicing, including all aspects of REO property management, analysis and valuations. Ms. Pinkhasov has a Bachelor of Business Administration Cum Laude from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College/CUNY in 2002 and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from the Schack Institute at New York University in 2014.
Daniel T. Kusic
Mr. Kusic founded the Firm in 1993 and has been Managing Director continuously since that time. He has 50 years of distressed real estate experience and commercial transaction administration beginning in 1970 as an intern at the then second oldest and largest mortgage USA REIT, followed by various positions in real estate finance, development construction and taxation, including management of commercial real estate tax appeals and FDIC and RTC asset management experience. Mr. Kusic received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from West Virginia University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami.
